Jessica Carter is the Vegan Food & Lifestyle Coach for Compassion Over Killing (COK), a national non-profit animal protection organization based in Washington, DC. She organizes and hosts cooking demos, develops online trainings and multimedia content for TryVeg.com, and coordinates collaborations with vegan influencers to provide people with helpful resources in the adoption and maintenance of a vegan lifestyle.
Jessica brings several years of project coordination experience to the table at Compassion Over Killing. In her role, she combines her love of plant-based cooking and her passion for spreading the message that plant-based eating can be fulfilling, nourishing, and accessible for everyone. Her recipes have been featured on FOX45 Baltimore, Let’s Talk Live, and Good Morning Washington.
In 2011, Jessica began transitioning to a vegetarian diet to improve her health. In 2016 she adopted a vegan lifestyle to be kinder to the planet and contribute to creating a more compassionate world for animals. In 2009, Jessica received her undergraduate degree in African American Studies from Ohio University where she researched the persisting links between race, class, and inequality. She is committed to equipping people with the information and tools that they need to positively impact their quality of life by embracing a plant-powered lifestyle.
