Inspired by the engaging style of TED Talks, Veg-Talk is a platform where passionate speakers can share insights on animal welfare, environmental sustainability, social justice, health, and other topics related to veganism. Located in a dedicated tent with a stage and shaded seating, Veg-Talk will feature local and regional professionals, authors, nonprofit organizations, and chefs delivering short, impactful talks or demos. This is an opportunity to educate, inspire, and spark meaningful conversations while amplifying important nonprofit work. We invite speakers, nonprofit representatives, and chefs to apply for a speaking or demo opportunity. Submit your application after signing at the bottom.The Vegan Promise*All presentations, chef demos, materials, and promotional content must align with vegan principles—meaning no animal products, byproducts, or any form of animal exploitation. This includes: - No discussion or promotion of non-vegan products, including food, clothing, cosmetics, or household items containing animal derivatives (e.g., fur, leather, silk, lanolin, gelatin, whey, lard, fish sauce, beeswax, honey, etc.). - Books, pamphlets, and literature must not advocate for the use of animal products. - Chef demos must use 100% vegan ingredients, and all menus/signage must reflect this. If your normal business menu includes non-vegan items, you must create a vegan-only menu for the event. - Any signage or images featuring non-vegan food or products must be covered or replaced. All applicants must clearly demonstrate how their talk, nonprofit work, or chef demo aligns with veganism, animal rights, sustainability, health, or social justice. 2. Presentation & Booth Guidelines: All talks, demos, and nonprofit materials must align with the mission of Lancaster VegFest. Any content that contradicts the festival’s values may be restricted or removed. 3. Chef demo participants must ensure all ingredients are 100% vegan and clearly list ingredients for attendees. 4. Respect & Conduct: Participants must be respectful to attendees, vendors, volunteers, and other presenters. Participants are expected to uphold a positive, inclusive, and educational atmosphere. 5. Liability & Safety: Lancaster VegFest, The Vegan Circus, and our volunteers/venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, nor for injuries sustained during participation. Speakers, nonprofits, and chef demo participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lancaster VegFest against any legal claims. 6. Media & Promotion: By participating, you agree to being photographed or filmed for future marketing by Lancaster VegFest and/or local media. 7. Food vendors and chef demo participants must comply with all local health permits and regulations. 8. Respectful Discussions & Sensitive Content: While we encourage open discussions, we ask that all talks, demos, and nonprofit materials maintain a respectful and inclusive tone. If discussing sensitive topics (e.g., graphic depictions of animal cruelty, health issues, or environmental crises), please provide a content warning before presenting. 9. Lancaster VegFest reserves the right to review and approve all presentation topics beforehand. 10. No Unapproved Product Sales or Fundraising: Nonprofits and speakers may not sell products or collect donations unless they have been pre-approved by Lancaster VegFest. Any fundraising efforts must be clearly stated in the application and approved in advance. 11. Chef Demo Ingredient Transparency: Allergies & Dietary Concerns: If offering food samples, chef demo participants must clearly list all ingredients and note potential allergens (e.g., soy, nuts, gluten). Food Safety: Chef demo participants are responsible for following proper food handling and sanitation procedures. 12. Microphone & AV Equipment Usage: Lancaster VegFest will provide basic microphone and speaker equipment for Veg-Talk. If additional AV equipment (e.g., projectors, screens, cooking appliances) is needed, speakers and chef demo participants must bring their own and notify the event organizers in advance. 13. Commitment to Attendance: Since Veg-Talk is a scheduled program, no-shows create disruptions. If you are unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible so we can adjust the schedule. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in being unable to participate in future events. 14. Interactivity & Audience Engagement: We encourage all speakers and chefs to engage with the audience—whether through Q&A sessions, interactive discussions, or cooking demonstrations with audience participation. However, we ask that presenters keep discussions constructive and avoid debates that could disrupt the event’s atmosphere.
