Immerse yourself in a thought-provoking discussion centered around the ongoing efforts within our community concerning climate change, food justice, and animal welfare. Discover the latest initiatives and gain insights on how to actively participate. If activism resonates with you or if you’re simply curious about the world of activism, engage in conversation with these remarkable changemakers and let their stories ignite your inspiration.

Stewart Mitchell
voice4change

Stewart Mitchell is a Brooklyn-born animal rights/human rights activist. He is a poet, author, and public speaker. Stewart has written two books, Liberation Summer and Kayla The Vegan to help children understand the importance of going vegan and having compassion for animals. Stewart also created voice4change, an all-inclusive, collective liberation advocacy group that uses poetry to convey the message of animal rights and animal liberation. Stewart has won awards with PETA and Woodstock Sanctuary for his continued work towards animal rights and sits on the board of the political advocacy organization Voters For Animal Rights. He currently visits NYC schools as part of “meet the author“ events to speak to young children about animal rights and cruelty-free living.

 


Tiffany Stair
Rev-Philly
Tiffany is a lifelong cat lady that made the connection to veganism overnight in 2017. She has been engaged in local activism ever since. Tiffany is a Registered Nurse of twenty years, specializing in Emergency Medicine. Caring for human and non-human animals has always been her nature. She is a true-to-form Pisces. Tiffany lives in the greater Philadelphia area with her partner, Jeff, and the gang: pups Sunny & Oscar; and kitties, Roger & Tony. She hopes to rescue senior animals in the future. Since co-founding Rev Philly and going on this journey, she is committed to banning horse-drawn carriages & the sale of fur in Philadelphia, as well as finding long-term solutions to help animals.

 


Ellen Dent
Animal Alliance Network
Co-founder of the 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Animal Alliance Network activist group as part of Animal Save Movement. She helped organize weekly pig vigils outside of the former largest slaughterhouse in the Southwest, Farmer John, near Downtown Los Angeles. Now, she is also a dedicated Plant Based Treaty Campaigner who helped obtain the city of Los Angeles’s Plant-Based Treaty endorsement. She hopes to help raise awareness in her community and around the world about the victims of animal agriculture while helping facilitate plant-based transitions in the areas of policy for governments and institutions.

 


Sarah Salluzzo & Jonina Turzi
Lancaster Farm Sanctuary

Join us in welcoming Sarah and Jonina, the visionary founders of Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, as they bring their unique perspectives to the Activism Panel. Established in 2017 to address the pressing need for a farm sanctuary rooted in intersectional advocacy, Sarah and Jonina have been at the forefront of creating a compassionate space for farmed animals. Notably, Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is an LGBTQ-founded and led organization.

At the core of LFS’s mission is the rescue and sanctuary provision for farmed animals, accompanied by a powerful drive to inspire humans to embrace lives imbued with compassion and respect. LFS recognizes the interconnectedness of various issues, including animal exploitation, social injustice, human health, and our environment. By forging connections with individuals, fostering public education, and cultivating collaborations with organizations, LFS strives to enhance the well-being of all community members, both human and nonhuman. Through their efforts, LFS endeavors to alleviate animal suffering and guide humanity toward a more compassionate and sustainable future.
